Navy Mates for over 50 years

Sadly Keith passed away on the 25 August 2024, he will be sadly missed by all those who knew him…

Our Journey 

Steve Bloxham OAM and Keith Bazley joined the Royal Australian Naval Establishment in Fremanatle Western Australia, HMAS Leeuwin at the age of 15 1/2 in April 1972. Where they underwent training, preparing them to join a warship in the RAN fleet.

Steve served 41 years, 21 permanent and 20 years reserve time and served on various ships, he left the Navy in 1993, after serving a majority of his time in the Naval Police. He was awarded awarded the Victorian Shrine of Remembrance Medal in 2017 and an OAM in 2021 for his work with Veterans.

Keith eventually ended up serving 13 years, which included his time on Submarines.

They also worked together in Qld State Government Security Service for many years.

Now they are both Directors at our RSL carrying various roles.
